Nice to see. So this one, the one at Ardmore and the one at Kihikihi are all back in RNZAF colours. I wonder about the fourth one.
I was the S&S guy who had to obliterate all the roundels and serial numbers on the fleet before they were released to civil hands, and one of them had them painted back on within weeks!

This is in my logbook from 1973, and it's nice to see it back in RNZAF colours. Thanks for the update.

61 was at Woodbourne a couple of times in 86 - May - July and again in December. I have all the logs. I was also interested in the comment that the one at Ardmore is in RNZAF colours, as I have a communication from CAA that says that none others have been approved. I had seen a pic of it, and mentioned it as there was a possibility that they may have stumbled over it with two aircraft in similar schemes, the only difference being the S/N. Even though the one under the wings are 16" high. I guess these two qualify as New Zealands littlest warbirds. I certainly remember Jason Easthope taking it out on happy baccy patrols in the early nineties.

Maybe I am mistaken about the scheme of the one at Ardmore. Perhaps I had spotted NZ1761 visiting there and assumed it was a resident. Sorry for the confusion.

Or the one of the perfect forced landing in the paddock next to the airstrip? Wasn't Des, btw....

I'm looking. You know Des pretty well. There is/was a photo of him in 75's history with two of his best friends. Two beer bottles! Really great guy to work with.
