It was a beautifully warm day both Saturday and Sunday at Manapouri Dave, I would guess in the low teens. Pretty good for winter, dont let the snow fool you.
I have been test flying a machine that way and was there all Saturday, magic flying in a really stunning location. Nice airfield too by the way for those who have never been.

Just to show we have nice mountains in the North Island too. Here are some shots from Sundays sortie. Ruapehu from about Taumaranui 6000' Ngaruhoe from about 9000' Ruapehu crater lake from 10200' running out of puff about then with 2 big guys and full fuel. Official ceiling is 15000' A great day on the slopes as well as the air, Turoa, SW side of the mountain
