One of my teachers at Wellington High School (Technical College) back in the '60's was a guy by the name of Robertson.
All I know was his Surname and that he flew Catalina's. He was possibly a Flt Lt with an initial of D.
Anyone able to help me?
He was an amazing teacher and warned us back then that no politician was going to act on the baby-boomer approaching retirement issue - until it was too late. Back then it seemed so far in the future - today, it seems like it was yesterday!
As an aside, another teacher by the name of Hamilton (knick-named Sewer) was part of 25SU.

The closest I can find is Sgt M.H. 'Robbie' Robinson, a Flight Engineer in Brewer's crew. I have no Robertson though sorry.

"All I know was his Surname and that he flew Catalina's."
Do you mean 'flew' as in piloting?

Or - Maybe he was 5 Sqn?
He talked about Catalina's so I 'assumed' he was with 6 Sqn.
One story he told was of flying through a frontal system and the hail strippd the paint off the leading edges.

Hi, my dad, James(Jimmy)Reichenbach was in 25SU and had two tours of duty, he was fitter amourer, my email address is jennifer@vcnz.co.nz NZ421572 J N Reichenbach was the only person of that surname to serve in the RNZAF during WWII. In the Hawke's Bay and East Coast Aero Club notes published in the April 1935 issue of New Zealand Wings magazine there is mentioned that among the pupil pilots receiving instruction there is one R. Reichenbach, though it seems that he did not continue with his flying instruction as there is no further mention of him in subsequent issues. Would he be a relation, perhaps? Errol
