I've got a question. ;D There's been discussion of replacement's for the Hueys.
What are they likely to be ? Surely not Blackhawks, we couldn't afford to run them let alone purchase them.
Maybe EH-90's ?

:DTheres a bloke down Stratford way with a flock of 9 Westland Wessexes - The CAA arent letting him use them for heli logging so perhaps he should lease them to the RNZAF!

Aparently the guy has the worlds entire stock of Wessex parts as well - 100 40 foot containers of them! seriouser though, I wouldnt rule out blackhawks though on the grounds of transtasman commonality. The Army's LAV3 debacle shows that there is defence money around (105 LAVS!!!!) it just depends how the backhanders work.

Please, not Wessex, they are soooo ugly. And the design is about as old as the iroquois anyway.
I don't think we'll be getting Blackhawks, or anything from the USA - I think we might be getting something from a little closer to home.

There were only 5 of them in NZ for sale, the other 3 were in the uk, There were 25 40 foot containers of spares.. not 100! wouldn't be surprised if they are still there.
