This Airshow will be held on Saturday November 19th, 2011 at Temora. There will be plenty of aerial action for you to enjoy with most of the Museum's aircraft collection taking to the skies as well as plenty of visiting aircraft. The visiting aircraft which have confirmed, have been included on the page - but we are still working on others. As they confirm we will add them to the page also. Apart from the flying program there will be other exhibits for you to see and enjoy. The children will be occupied with Kids Korner, Jumping Castles and other activities. A wide variety of food vendors will be here on the day to ensure you are provided with a vast food selection and if you are a classic / vintage car and military vehicle fan, you can enjoy perusing the many vehicles on display for the event. www.aviationmuseum.com.au/vistor_information/warbirds_downunder_2011/

I'm there. Got my tickets already ! Can't wait. Won't be spending a lot of time on the Jumping Castle though. Been hanging out for another of Temora's "big shows".

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get there. I'm in Sydney so it's a bit of a trek.

I'm in Christchurch NZ so you've got it easy !!!!! ;D
Your best way is probably out throught the Blue Mountains, take a loop around the Bathurst race circuit just cos you can, and on out that way. I'm heading from Sydney down to HARS at Illawarra for a look, and then cutting inland. Or maybe if my son and me are feeling crazy and up for it, driving from HARS at Illawarra to Canberra, and then to Temora, but thats a BIG ask.
Managed to fluke a couple of beds in Temora just a couple of weeks ago and its been booked out for yonks.

Ok you win, I do have it easy.
I heard the best way is to head to Canberra.I might go to Canberra and check out the War Memorial then head to the show, kill two birds with one stone.
I could always borrow the P-40 to get home from the show ;D

Much of a muchness going the Bowral-Goulburn-Yass-Harden-Temora route (heading to Canberra on the Hume) but you could also look at Bathurst-Cowra-Young-Temora. Slightly longer but depends on where you are in Sydney.
Canberra to Temora is bang on three hours so, all up, you would be adding less than an hour to the entire trip if you stopped by our nation's capital. Only prob with the AWM is you can't do it in a couple of hours! I've been twice this year and still not seen it all.
I'm 70kms up the road from Temora and can't make the big airshow. Disappointing (especially as the Connie is going) but them's the breaks.

Andy, You're right. Shame you can't make it. Do they have this show every year?I think if they have it next year I might try and catch it then.I need to organise it so I have enough time to visit Canberra then head to Temora, make a weekend of it. Another thing is I will be catching a train,I don't really trust my car on long trips.
Did you guys catch the episode of ''In Their Footsteps - Tony Boyd''? They showed Temora in it. Interesting to know that's where the RAAF trained in WWII.
