Smoothing things over with the neighbours before planting Marines in North Australia perhaps? Or ensuring pesky Russian machinery doesn't get selected? Better to know the machines you could potentially end up having to fight with I guess, than to not be 100% sure about how to stop them.

Interesting alright. I wonder if anyone in Gov't here has taken notice (unlikely)! Upgraded C/Ds are quite a step up in capability from the Block 15 A/Bs Indonesia already has and NZ was getting way back in 1998.

So, maybe New Zealand should start acting 'offended' about the USMC coming to Darwin, and then they too can have a couple of squadrons of F-16C/Ds?

We tried that Craig and they offered us 28 F-16s for next to nothing but aunty Helen turned them down!
