I LOOOOVE this beer! So handy to home too!! In the immortal words of Norm Peterson (off Cheers) when asked: "Beer Norm"? replies: "Have I gotten that predictable"?
"Can I pour you a beer, Mr. Peterson?" "A little early isn't it, Woody?" "For a beer?" "No, for stupid questions."

Norm was classic.
Wigram Brewery's beer is great. Another nice aviation themed beer is Flying Fortress from Boundary Road Brewery.

Great labels...but the price seems a trifle high? Or am I out of touch with the price of a cold beverage in NZ now?

Those prices seem hugely excessive, it's much cheaper in the supernarket.

$72 for a dozen 500ml bottles of quality beer seems ok to me. Best to buy it direct rather than at the supermarket perhaps?
Plus you get 20 cents per bottle returned to the brewer :-)
Anyway, Merry Xmas and a happy 2012 to one and all.

Phew...glad to hear that.
Arrived in AKL this morning for a night and was pleased to see that I could still buy quite a few bottles of good Kiwi wine at reasonable prices :-)

Now that you say they are 500ml bottles - which I hadn't realised - it's not so bad.

And there are also the Warbirds beer mugs (also available via Stevens), a great pressie suggestion. I got the coasters for Xmas.

Don't forget the Spitfire Ale from England which you can get in NZ occasionally.

Don't forget the Spitfire Ale from England which you can get in NZ occasionally. Marketed as "The Bottle of Britain"! I get given a drop every now and then. Good strong ale. The one thing I really enjoyed about the UK was the pub culture; I used to live a few miles from the Leefe Robinson VC in north London. There are so many aviation themed pubs around that Key Publishing published a wee book with them listed, so you could theoretically drink your way round aviation inns around the entire country!

Unfortunately in my minimum wage GA job I have to stick to the cheap nasty stuff Some day in the future I wont bat an eyelid at $70 per doz.... well actually I probably still would.

As a pressie to our household after the year we have had down here in Christchurch, it was well worth it. So far every bottle is a winner :-) 8 down, 4 to go.
