Hi all
Quick question I'm hoping you can help with?
I know the Mk III's wore the WWII Pacific Roundel/bars for a period after WWII (especially on the natural metal), does anyone know when that changed to the "D" type roundel?
Thanks
Alan

Sounds like one for Simon Moody at the Air Force Museum.
Having a quick look through "The Golden Age of NZ Flying Boats" there is a photo of NZ4101 on the slip way at Hobsonville in bare metal and with RAF roundels taken "...in early 1946." The text states that by January 1946 the Sunderlands were still laid up at Hobsonville, presumably by this stage with their war paint stripped.
