Gear extension immediately after gear retraction?

It would be standard for a test flight like that, everything that needs to be checked would be done in the shortest amount of time, including the RAT that you can see deployed in the landing video.

Nice looking machine, and striking livery!
What's the little "propeller" under the fuselage for (in the first video)?

Adzze that is the RAT (Ram Air Turbine) talked about in the reply above yours. Details can be found here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_air_turbine

I have no doubt they will be checking systems, but I would love to hear the reason for extending gear so soon after lift off in a critical flight phase..... If one of their new donks spat a blade with the gear out it's performance would be greatly affected and to risk that so low to the ground I'd be surprised. There'll be a reason for sure, but my bet would be "Positive climb" "Gear up please" "Selected" "Shit! we're supposed to leave the gear down til XX height....gear down please" "you dick!...Selected"

Overdosing on Flight Sim? Guess you noticed the short take off run and rapid climb...it would be at it's zero fuel weight plus a miserly amount of fuel and a few bods on...at that weight it could probably climb with both engines shut down (joke) 'Please' is not standard phraseology but your expletive is often heard

Interesting video, cheers for posting. I'm sure S2k's 'flight simming' is all in a day's work.
