I just had a brief but interesting chat with Ex WWII 14 Squadron Pilot John Claydon on the phone,As you can imagine he was very old so it was hard for him to answer any questions I had.At first he didn't trust me asking me if I had any documents or proof that I was Peter's Nephew, once I read some parts of the logbook he opened up a bit and told me what he knew about Peter. He said he knew Peter well and he was an excellent Pilot and very popular with everyone. He also was suprised that I wanted to speak to him, he didn't think anyone cared about those days. Good to hear you've made contact with another of Peter Moore's squadron mates.

John Claydon is an old family friend - and a very interesting guy for lots of reasons to interview - pre war airman, WW II Pilot, J Force in Japan, Hillary's Trans Antartic pilot etc etc .... also a climber, hunter and fisherman.
Still very sharp - well worth an interview there Dave.
