What an ugly beast, would be interesting to see what the fuel burn is. Nothing like a marketing video with lots of nice music....I bet it's as noisy as the 7 dwarfs banging a hammer in a dozen tin rubbish bins!

Yeah it isn't that pretty is it haha But the performance looked alright. Definitely not the conventional helicopter though, thats for sure.

Of course, the Fairey Gyrodyne and Rotodyne used the same concept back in the 1950s (jet drive rotors though). looks pretty cool - will give some competition for the Agusta Westland (formerly Bell - Boeing) 609 Tiltrotor.

I still think Sikorsky is heading in a much better direction with their X-2 demonstrator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_X2) which achieved over 250 knots. The next stage of the Sikorsky project is the S-97 Raider.
