^^ I received an old Matchbox kit of the Tempest II that I will finish as MW376 in this scheme.
Also, in a Facebook update on the goings-on in the Pioneer hangar today: "and tickets to France to pick up a Tempest."

Just a quick update, the first container is due in country on the 28th of this month. It is a 20 footer and contains the better part of a couple of later Centaurus engines as well as some flight controls and prop parts, mostly Seafury. Steve arrives in the UK in about 8 hours and will be meet by Hugh Jones (ex Old Flying Machine company) they then drive to southern France to oversea the pack up of the important bits. These containers are due in country 2nd week of July. Cheers

Just a quick thanks to those of you that have contacted either directly of indirectly, great to hear from you. We are now in contact with four other organisations who are rebuilding these magnificent aircraft, the race is on we would like to be first. Our pleas for help with the manuals on this and other boards has resulting in us now having aircraft, engine and propbooks either here or on there way. Attached is a photo of the first container load which has been sorted, preserved and wrapped ready for cataloging, work has now begun on some of these items. Last we heard the other two containers were moving down through the Suez canal, due here second week of July. Attachments:

The time is just about here, containers from France arriving on the wharf in Auckland this Sunday. The pessimist in me expects delays in processing so should be at Ardmore middle of next week.

It was an exciting day at Ardmore today, Kerry and I happened to call into Pioneer at just the right time to see the Tempest being unloaded and rolled into the hangar. What a great day, the aircraft looks fantastic, really big. It was great to catch up with a few other forum members there too, I'm amazed there are not a load of photos up here already. I will sort through mine and post some up soon, I have just got home after three weeks away so need to settle in first.
But I wanted to say a huge congrats to Paul and Steve and the rest of the team at Pioneer. What a great day today, and what a fantastic project this is going to be to follow!
