Wow, Bruce.
Nice work there. Would love to see some more shots of the cockpits. Plus some tips on how you scratch built them

That is really good! Best job I've seen on a Kahu Skyhawk. The detail on the ladder is exceptional! Well done.

Just out of pure interest, how much would it cost to commission an A4K or TA4K build on 1/48 0r 1/32 in the original paint scheme? (Anything but 07 because I never worked on it.)
Regards
Paddy.

That would be my only minor (I stress minor) criticism. Should have some paint missing from the slats as well as the paint in that scheme never lasted long on the leading edges .

That is spectacular! The sort of model that would sweep the pool in every competition it was entered... Just out of pure interest, how much would it cost to commission an A4K or TA4K build on 1/48 0r 1/32 in the original paint scheme? (Anything but 07 because I never worked on it.) paddy, a professional model builder I use in Taiwan ( Bill Models), would charge US$1800 (NZ$2195) to build a jet to that standard. I'm actually going to commission him to build me an A-4K later on this year (after he's finished the F-104S he's currently working on for me). I also have a friend in Singapore ( Garage43), who's a professional model builder and we've been discussing building a high detail TA-4K into NZ6256, in its anniversary guise. We haven't discussed the cost yet, but I imagine we'll be looking at around about the NZ$2k mark. Yet another professional in France ( Built Up Models), is just putting the finishing touches on a Vampire for me right now, and they quoted me approximately 1200 Euro (NZ$1930). I'll be posting pictures of this one here very shortly... So, I think it's safe to say that if you're looking at roughly two grand for a high quality Skyhawk from a top international model builder. I don't know any model builders here in NZ (sadly...), so I've no idea what they'd charge for a job like Bruce Salmon has just produced.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Unfortunately the photos don't do justice to the subtlety of the paint job. The matt varnish also toned down the weathering quite a bit. Sorry but I don't really have the time for any commission builds - hardly enoug time do make my own. Here's another shot of the cockpit - my camera isn't good enough to show the detail that well. Cheers Bruce

I think your paintjob looks fantastic. I agree that it's the best model I've seen in this scheme. The cockpit looks great too.
