This book is in the shops. It is a mighty tome, hardback with 647 pages and is priced accordingly @ RRP $84.99.
The sub titles explain the book's subject. British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, RNZAF Aircrew Training Canada 1940-1945.
I think the authors Ivan & Lorna Lindsey have done us a great service in compiling a history of this part of New Zealand aviation. I am impressed that in association with Wilsonscott Publishing they have achieved publication of such an expensive book dealing with a subject which will only appeal to a small number of enthusiasts and families whose fathers etc were associated with the scheme.

I'm sure this will be a great book. Ivan has helped me out with my research over the years, and I have reciprocated with information I've dug up going his way. He's a very knowledgeable chap.
An important book as so few official records were apparently kept of the RNZAF training in Canada.

Reading this at the moment - great read.
Somewhat surprised when I glanced at the photos in the back of the book to note the mistakes in identifying aircraft in Appendix II. A "Tiger Moth" cockpit with radio gear, a Catalina FBY, a "Mitchell" actually is a Havoc, an "Oxford" that is clearly an Anson and flight lines of "Oxfords" that have a strong resemblage of Cessna Cranes. Disappointing when you see the amount of detail in the remainder of the book (apart from a few spelling mistakes). Having been through the spell check process with my wife's book, I know how hard it is to get it all correct.
Despite the above, I would still recommend this as a brilliant record of the BCATP.
