Genuine country pub. Not like the fake ones that pop up from time to time. Most activity takes place on the front lawn, so choose a fine day. If you go on a Saturday afternoon you'll meet up with the Harley Davidson crowd.

Well worth a visit. A real Museum piece. Now run by the daughter of the owner for many years, Rod Seymour. Used to drink there a lot. Have only been a couple of times over the last year.

The mustard factory between the pub and the Cheese factory is also pretty good - look for the smoked wholegrain mustard - its awesome with roast beef!

I have a 150 year reunion next year in Puhoi for the settlers that I hope I can make it to, as I live in oz. The Seymour family have owned it since the fifties..My family owned it in the 1800's and built it, I think. I will have to check out the cheese factory..only one problem..i'm lactose intolerant The mustard factory does sound good..I put mustard on everything.

I took some Malaysians up there when they were over on a 3 month course, way back in 95. Was a week day and no one else in the bar so the old guy showed us through the place out the back etc Real neat old pub, beer was cold so it must have been good. Next stop was to shear some sheep.
