Dauntless NZ5057 of the RNZAF 25 squadron landing at Piva on Bougainville. The Dauntless taken over as new aircraft February-March 1944. BOC with No.25 Servicing Unit on 24 February 1944. Ferried to Bougainville for use with No.25 Squadron, arriving at Piva on 23 March 1944. Named "HOWA-BAHT-THAT-HIC thing!" Returned to US Marine Corps at Russell on 20 May 1944. close up of the Dauntless

Thanks Mcfly these are great photos. The info just add to the painting. Have you got any more? These will help me redo the faces of the crew.

was not happy with the foreground so have changed it and altered the crew a bit

T.J. McL. de Lange deceased 04 July 2005 age 91.
