Wonder if our Special Forces see an opportunity or capability they could use it for.

This jetpack isn't being developed by a Nigerian mob, is it?

I still cannot see the point in it. Even if they produce an example people can buy, noone will be able to afford it and I'm sure the Government will find a way to regulate it out of existence after the first few fatal accidents. Pointless.

Pointless. Perhaps they should considerably enlarge the Jet Pack concept to give us one of those Buck Rogers -style flying cars we were promised back in the 1950s would become reality in the 21st century. Anyway, talking of Buck Rogers -style stuff, remember this foward-looking projection of what Auckland would look like at the start of the 21st century? There are no flying cars in the picture, but presumably they were a few years further in the future.

I have not looked at what Martin is up these days... I am aware that Mr Martin as the original designer/fianancer/builder/pilot/sales manager/project manager had a few issues with releasing control / trusting others to do their job. Not unusual with creative types... I was at the Oshkosh unveiling 4 years ago. I was told about the personality clashes there resulting in the proposed demo pilot walking out.
I suspect they have "missed the boat" on this one now.
While I don't have time for many salesmen out there, there are times when you need to step back and let them present and sell. Often the creative ones make crap sellers!
Just my 2c worth... and no I wouldn't give them 2c...

So, call me Mr Thicky, but which part of the pack is 'Jet'? Or am I being Mr Picky...? " Jet " referes to the stream of air that causes the propulsion , not so much as to how that " jet " is created ( you could refer to any engine that creates a " jet " of air , as a Jet engine .( I think ) The Jet pack engine doesnt create a Jet of air ( it only turns a fan ) , but the whole machine is propelled by a Jet of air - so can be described as a " Jet pack "
