Hard to visualise those halcyon days of the mid to late 70's now.
Look at the companies we had in NZ that seemed to be assembling another aircraft out of the box every second week.
I used to fly a C172M, indeed I am still working on it today, that I am sure I saw a pic of sitting outside the factory at Wichita. The thing that struck me was that the factory paint scheme incorporated the NZ registration markings.
Would that have been normal for the day ? 1973 or 1974..

Yes that would have been normal.
King tried to get Cessna to leave the comfort fittings (eg ashtrays) out of the 180s that were to be used for topdressing, but found it would actually cost more to get them left out than to put them in. Apparently it would has caused disruption to the smooth flow of the busy production line.

Would that be the delivery than killed the Victa Airtourer's market in Australia through price undercutting? In which case it would have been another benefit to Kiwi aero business.
