RNZAF 75th Anniversary Art Competition!![/glow]
This competition is brought to you in conjunction with the
Air Force Museum of New Zealand!
www.airforcemuseum.co.nz/
Parents - and I know there are lots of you here - get your kids involved in this one! It'll be a great fun project for you and your kids to work on together.
The rules are:
Rule 1 - You can draw, sketch, paint, collage or create any kind of artwork you want so long as its topic is any scene from RNZAF history over the past 75 years - Marking the RNZAF's 75 Years!!
Your artwork can depict any RNZAF aeroplane, people, bases, or whatever you wish, but it must reflect RNZAF history.
Rule 2 - Kids can enter as many different artworks as they wish.
Rule 3 - All completed artworks must be scanned and posted onto this thread - ONE PICTURE PER POST! If you or your parents have trouble posting the picture, please ask me and I'll help out.
Rule 4 - All artworks posted must have the full name of the artist in the post, and the age of the artist, and also a short title or description of the RNZAF topic you've chosen to depict.
Rule 5 - As this competition is all about getting youth thinking about and involved in aviation the age limit is 16 years old. We have two categories, 0 - 10 years old; and 11 - 16 years old. We will have two identical threads running but each is for one category, splitting them so that it is easier when the voting starts. This one is for the 11 - 16 years age entry.
Rule 6 - This thread will be open for one month - but please the ONLY posts to be made here are competition entries and nothing else (apart from by me, if necessary). if you feel the need to post comments or whatever, do it in a new thread, as this is for the competition entries only.
Rule 7 - At the end of the month this thread will be closed and I will then convert the thread to a Poll, with each entry getting a vote. We'll open the voting to the whole forum so it is democratic, an voting will take place for a couple of weeks. So by the end of that we shall hopefully have two winners and two runners up.

The prizes which will be kindly supplied by The Air Force Museum of New Zealand include:

Our Mosquito Flight Simulator provides you with the opportunity to relive one of World War Two's most thrilling aerial raids, as you fly the Mosquito over Norwegian fiords in search of German battleships while sitting in a replica Mosquito cockpit. Value $10 per 10 minute ticket.
Also a copy of the Ventura Publications book 'Pacific Twins' and a Ventura decal sheet.
Runner Up Prize in each category:
A Mosquito Flight Simulator ticket.
However I hope to add some more prizes over the coming month to entice the kids to take part. If you can offer any aviation prizes that will match the two age levels, please get in touch.
A Tip
A great way to start out on your artwork depicting an RNZAF scene is you could look through some books or the forum and find an RNZAF related photo that you like, and copy it or base the artwork loosely on it.
You could draw/paint etc a Hercules in Afghanistan, a Corsair in the Pacific, a Spitfire over the Channel, a Vildebeest over the ocean, or anything that takes your fancy.
Come on parents, get behind this, it's taken a lot of thinking and working out so we hope we can bring a new generation of aviation fans into both the forum and the Air Force Museum of New Zealand through this.
