Somewhere we can discuss the competition as the threads are for the entries only. I think this is a great opportunity for the youngsters, well done Dave and everyone who organised it to take place. I look forward to seeing the entries flow in. Might even get my 19 month old nephew to scribble something!

Yep well done Dave & organisers. Have already sent details to son so that Number 1 grandson (7) and maybe grandaughter (4) might have a go.

Thanks ngati (what is your real name?!) - it would be good to have someone kick it off so others will follow. No-one is expecting great aviation art, it's all about getting involved and the kids learning a bit, and elling us what they learned about the subject they chose.

Well the competition has begun with our first excellent entry from Matthew Bassett, who I believe was with us at the last forum meet at Ohakea. Great, keep them coming!

People keep posting messages in the two competition threads - READ THE RULES PEOPLE - posts in those threads are only for entries of artwork - all other posts will be and are being deleted.

Hi Dave
Early days yet - there will be entries from others. Your competition has been the cause of much excitement in this household and I am sure that will apply in other households!
Matthew, and his twin brother James both have some entries to come. One will be a scratch build Tiger Moth and airfield diorama, built using matchsticks and other scraps, that James has nearly finished.
Thanks for your idea and efforts to create the competition.
cheers

Thanks John, I can't wait to see that Tiger Moth. I have heard of some others coming soon too, thankfully.
Bruce, I was thinking that maybe down the track we should have a grown ups aviation art competition too. What do people think?

We are almost halfway through the competition period and although the entires that have been entered are great, I am disappointed that just one family has gotten behind this. Especially as several people have said they have entries coming which have not turned up. Talk about a lead balloon...

There are only THREE DAYS TO GO before the competitions close, on August 31st.
I really thought that a lot more forum members would have gotten behind this, it's such a shame. Thanks to the two youndsters who have entered. Several people have said they have kids/grandkids, etc who are planning to enter and they haven't, so now's their last chance.

Nearly done. Homework will get in the way tonight, but I'll try to push something onto the forum.
