Just to let you all know I am progressing with the book and I am creating contacts all the time and getting some good information. I am also doing a couple of painting for the covers. The one shown will be on the back cover as the one on the front will be of Hampdens attaching a ship. This one I have started with the background and have placed photos of the beaufighter into the position I will finally have them. They are exiting the Sogne fjord after attacking shipping in April 1945. Would still love to hear of any contacts that can help me with the book.

HI mate, I will send you a PM and put you in touch with Kristen Alexander as she wrote a book about one of No. 455 Sqdn RAAF's COs and will have worked in similar areas.

I sure like. I have recently finished "Strike Wings" by Roy Nesbit, a really good read that makes the whole story of these wings & their dangerous missions against German shipping very easy to follow. The idea of an 'accessible' history of 489 sqn is to be applauded in everyway, the role of this NZ sqn & other Kiwis in these Squadron is one that surely deserves greater exposure, if for no other reason than as a tribute to the very obvious gallantry & the sacrifices they made. Steve.
