A guy my age can still remember some of the radio and television commercials for the various airlines. Some of my favorites were the "NAC, Wings of the Nation" commercial on TV, the Skybus radio jingle that was on briefly before the NZ Government pulled the plug on Aqua Avia, Dennis Conner and Chris Dickson on an Ansett NZ TV Commercial, and an Ansett NZ TV commercial that had Frank Sinatra singing in the background...

Some of my favourite airline adverts include:
"Fluffy, FLUFFY???!!"
"I gave them to the pilot, and he threw them out the window."
The Quaintarse adverts from Alf Garnett
Qantas ad "Going Home" featring Boeing 747 Longreach and Mark Knopfler's haunting tune Going Home.
Qantas adverts with Teddy the koala (is he still alive?)
British Airways where the face comes together in the desert

I also recall a "Quantastic" ad where Fred Dagg asks if the hostess could open a window.

Dennis Conner: "How come you got a hot meal?" Chris Dickson: "I'm Flying Ansett".
Wallabies Captain: "How come you get all the attention?" All Blacks Captain: "I'm Flying Ansett".
It was commercials like these that persuaded me to fly Ansett in 1988 when I flew down from Auckland to Nelson to be with my Grandmother for her 80th birthday. Of course, I could only fly Ansett as far as Wellington. I flew Air Nelson the rest of the way.
