Hiya, fellas.... I'm trying to get a hold of the above book for my rather limited collection of Pacific Theatre books; anyone got a copy they'd sell, or know where I could get one?
Also, does anyone know of anything published by any of the soldiers of 3Div in the Treasury Islands? These chaps seem ill served by mainstream literature, I feel
John

I saw a second-hand copy of that book for sale at a bookshop in Devonport (Auckland) last week.
I've already got a copy of it.

It is a really superb book but the price always seem to be high on it. i was after it for years and regularly saw it going for around $60.00 so never bought it. Then I was given a copy by my mate Bryan Cox so that made me very happy. Really well worth a read, Keith detailed a lot of things that other pilots never mentioned. I wish i'd been able to meet him before he passed away, he seemed to have an incredibly detailed memory going by hiw writing.

Not wanting to rub it in but I think I only paid about $15 for my copy, Ok, it was ex library & a bit used but still sound & I really do regard it as a treasure, 'specially at the price I paid. Steve.

Yeah, I've read it and liked it, and it'll always have a place on my bookshelf!
Chris, if you could, would you mind having a sticky-beak at the price when you're passing, please?
For those who haven't read it, Sir Robert Clark-Halls' biography is a goody, too; I worked on his sons farm in North Canterbury where I also had the privilege of reading the sons manuscript as well; John was an MTB skipper in the Med and boy, there were some hair raising stuff there! Sadly, I don't think it'll ever be published....
My neighbour in South Otago was a night intruder pilot in Bostons; single ship missions over Italy, Yugoslavia etc. ; very interesting man to talk to!

Thanks Chris! Yeah, there's a couple of online places showing it "out of stock", which is a little disingenuous, I feel....
I certainly hope the lady at the bookshop turns up trumps, eh!

Checked again with the lady at Evergreen Books in Devonport and unfortunately she can't find any trace of Kittyhawks and Coconuts - unless kiwithrottlejockey saw it in one of the other bookshops? Evergreen is the best and biggest locally but there is a small second-hand bookshop on the wharf - I had a look there but will ask again.

I cannot remember the name of the bookshop, but it was in the Devonport shopping centre.
I had only popped in there to kill a bit of time while waiting for the next ferry and I spied the book straight away amongst the aviation books.
I suppose it is always possible that someone else may have purchased it after I was in there.

Well I am also looking for a copy. In the small world that is NZ my wife and Keith's grandson's wife work together. I (re)met the grandson last week at wife's work dinner, found out we were actually at school together and we got talking fighters. So if a second copy is found somewhere.... EDIT: Found one, thank you Google
