Yeah the Mk82 was 500lbs and the Mk84 2000lbs. It doesn't look big enough for a Mk84? The Air Force Museum has a concrete filled Mk84 from the Skyhawk days. There is still one at Ohakea too in the Armourer's "museum". Certainly an interesting collection this guy has! The blue bomb on the right is a Mk84. The LGB on the left is a 1000lb MK83 and the one in the middle a 500lb Mk82 high drag. RNZAF Official Photo of the 75 Sqn Armourers in 1999. The late F/S Andy Forster is front row third from right.

Knew a guy in Tauranga in the early-mid '90s who collected ordnance, had a nice Oerlikon mounted in back garden. He had a 500lb'er and I'm pretty sure he had a 1000lb'er too.

I found out some more info about this bomb. It was one of the concrete 500lb'ers used for the Kahu stores release trials at Ohakea in 1988/89. They were originally painted orange. This one was dropped for real by a Skyhawk at the Raumai range near Ohakea as part of the trials. The Armourers went to dig it up the next day but someone had beaten them to it overnight! ;D So it hasn't been acquired legally so I can't see how this guy can sell it. How someone can legally acquire all the ordnance in those photos is beyond me. I'm surprised the Police and Defence haven't been around for a visit.
