A few questions, based on curiousity more than anything else:
1) How is Jerry Yagen going to get his toy home? Obviously too big for a forty foot container.....
2) How much does it cost to purchase and rebuild a merlin to airworthy standards? Obviously, the condition/completeness of the engine when acquired will make a significant difference to this...
3) Has Glyn Powell definately done a deal to finish his aircraft for the UK, or is this rumour? Is it too late for interested parties in NZ to intervene?

I understand that two containers will be welded together ,to get the disassembled Mosquito to the U.S.A. It wont be going to the U.K afaIk.
Merlin engine costs over US$100,000 to overhaul.Dont think you'll get any change out of US$150,000.
Best left up to Glyn I guess.

Jerry discusses the first two in Dave's podcast. Its US debut is set for May, so no UK trip.
He told us his Merlins (25s?) cost US$130,000 each to overhaul.
The latest issue of Aeroplane Monthly has an article on the Flying Mosquito Trust, but if you want more up-to-date info you would have to talk to Glyn. The article states a time to the UK of 3yr.

Thanks - I was picking about $100-150K to overhaul - plus the cost to purchase initially? How much can you puchase a rebuildable one for?
Would be a shame to see Glyn's aircraft go overseas, as its likely to be the only flying example to have an RNZAF connection - no chance of an NZ sydicate getting involved?

I'm sure if they front up with more money than the Flying Mosquito Trust yes, an NZ syndicate can get involved. And unlike in the UK it may even be possible to have it available for adventure flights.
