At the risk of being boringly sensible about this, I've met a lot of warbird owners, and I can't think of one who'd regard a lotto ticket as a good investment - ever. Well maybe not, but a HUGE lotto win (as in tens of millions) could allow one to become a warbird owner.

Speaking of the Sunderland, have you boatfans seen this?
The aforementioned Sunderland at the 1990 Biggin Hill Air Fair.

Warbird owners of the past and future know that isn't the way to get to it. Amassing cash though smarter means, and having real determination is what makes it happen. Regards,

The aforementioned Sunderland at the 1990 Biggin Hill Air Fair. Well that's nancy-boy stuff, why they didn't get anywhere near dragging the keel in the grass. Not like Rongotai back in '59! (Seriously though, thanks for a great clip).

It was around the time of that video when the pilot (Keith Sissons?) received an invoice after a flyby down the runway at Gatwick Airport for 'repairs to the runway, inc groove, and laundering of spectator's trousers'! However that wasn't as low at the RNZAF landings either.

Heard on the radio this morning that because of the massive interest its gone past NZ$600 million. Apparently if you want it in a lump sum you get around $385 million with ballance being taken in taxes. Normally they pay it out over a 20 or so year period which would mean a net income of $18million per annum.

My dentist is definitely cheaper than that, probably around $30.00 / minute but would think cheap rate for a lawyer. Went to a neurologist a few years back and that was $120.00 for about 10 minutes.

Went to a neurologist a few years back and that was $120.00 for about 10 minutes. I was at a concert in the Auckland Town Hall last Thursday evening, sitting with three retired dentists. One of them (who I know personally) is also a retired professional organ-builder (after he finished dentistry for the day), and that is another profession where they charge like wounded bulls. So he would have been really double-dipping before he retired.

One and three quarter hours at the dentist this morning = $1200
Total estimated costs of the current oral renovation - somewhere on the far side of seven grand.

yes I have to get my top set replaced with fake ones. a few $$$$ but ACC have decided to come up with 1K of it. A full crate of bread falling and hitting you in the face is not painless
