Luther, I think you're completely missing the point. I absolutely agree that no-one could have foreseen this women committing suicide as a specific outcome of this prank. But, anyone with the brains of a budgie should have been able to guess that "hells bells, this could get someone in serious shit" given the establishment it was made to & the subject it was made about. As one of our Sunday papers said, if there was a grown up in the room when this was vetted it would never have gone to air. The tragic demise of this women is an unfortunate side effect. It does take a genius to work out there were going to be side effects, probably serious for someone completely innocent & uninvolved. The staff & the institution for starters. There were. Steve. I agree that they should of thought about getting people in trouble but these days taking the piss out of people is entertainment,Have a look how many prank shows are on tv at the moment. Maybe the media needs to focus on peoples mental health issues and how to prevent this from happening rather than make a big fuss over a phone call and what these two did wrong, it wasn't just the phone call that ended er life.

I still can't believe she did that over a phone call. Should've made comment to this & that is, I don't believe it was just about the phone call at all, it is very likely she sadly had issues of other kinds too but this was enough to tip her. Bear in mind too her ethnic origin & perhaps this sort of thing may have loomed far larger on her mind than it may have on ours. WHo knows, or knew or cared? Steve. That is my guess.I know a few Indian people and one thing they would never want is to shame their family or the community. They are very strict and they also take their jobs very seriously.

Indeed, and shaming the future King and Queen would certainly have an impact on such a person's psyche, surely.

So who was really to blame , the DJ's that made a simple phone call , media as a whole - that played the call over and over - or every person that listened to the call and therefor provided motivation for the media to keep playing the call ?
