I watched it from me shop on Hewletts Rd,and you couldnt get a car park within a bulls roar of Classic Flyers, but I'm surprised some of the other locals on here haven't been posting up a storm of pics by now. I also prefer my aircraft to be dropping fertiliser... ;D

Thankyou to Mr Yaegan for letting us have his aeroplane for so long, great show this evening but of course too brief .Must be tough to be asked to do the flying of this machine. The public interest is really amazing.Hopefully it will generate some goodwill from joe public toward aviation.

They tried a Lancaster for topdressing in the UK I understand. They tried it in Scotland a few years after the war. If I recall correctly, they had the stuff in small paper bags with the aim of the bag bursting on impact and scattering the fertiliser. Obviously didn't go well as it never got past a couple of trials.

How about using the Antonov An225? You'd be able to use a D9 to push the fertiliser out the rear ;D

It did a couple of low fast passes over Whitianga Airfield on it's way. p.s. Whitianga now has a cafe at the clubhouse.
