Hi all, For the past two years or so I've emailed pretty much every kit manufacturer under the sun/on the internet suggesting they produce a Fletcher FU24 kit in 1:72, and I've had very little luck. A couple have shown some interest and may yet produce a kit. But I've had luck with one company, Unicraft, which specialises in the oddball and esoteric. Check out their site here: www.unicraft.biz/index.htmlIgor, who runs the company, told me in an email this morning that he can produce a kit if I can secure 20 pre-orders or more. Their kits range from about US$20-US$50, which for me is preferable to scratchbuilding or waiting for a kit which may never happen. I'd like to know if anyone else would be keen to put their names down and pre-order a kit. At this stage I'd put myself down for two, simply because I can't afford the five I'd like. Please let me know if you're keen and I can get back to him and, hopefully, we can have a 1:72 Fletcher FU24 kit. Thanks :-) There have been a couple of promising responses from manufacturers but this looks like the best.
Regarding a deposit, I'll wait until the threshold of 20 is reached and then enquire ;-)

Evening Zac, I will be a starter for 1 kit. Being cheeky - can we have the Roberston Air Service scheme? They were based out of Rukuhia but overshadowed by James Aviation.

Being at such an early stage, ie I suggested it to him last night, it may be a bit soon to be looking at decal options ;-) But I will take all suggestions on board. To be totally clear, this was his email response to my suggestion of an FU24 kit: hi Zac, thanks much for the suggestion. We can produce this model kit upon your order if you pre-order 20 or more of these kits. Please let me know, Thanks, Igor. EDIT: I have just received this email: "please let me know as soon as you have 15 orders confirmed, so we could start making the master and molds." I'm a little excited As you can imagine he needs reference materials to start on the masters and moulds in January, so if anyone has FU24-950 photos PLEASE email them direct to me at zyates87 AT gmail.com. We can make this happen!

Zac, there is a 90 page thread on Fletchers, is that not enough photos for you??

Haha that's a fair point Dave ;-) Although I'd rather have the explicit permission of the original poster before I forward them on to a third party.

Will it be resin? Injection moulded? Vacuum formed?
That company makes a huge number of butt ugly aeroplanes!

Resin :-) And yes they do, hence my hope for a Fletcher!

Glad to see that someone out there perseveres until they get a result. I would consider myself keen on one as well Zac if that gets your numbers over the mark.
I must finish my own one first but!

Zac, If this gets over the line how about then suggesting an Ag-Wagon series or even long term, a complete set of ag aircraft that have operated in NZ in 72nd. Be a devil and go for broke!!!

Anything is possible I guess! Once the FU24 is in production it may be wise to take a poll and see what else comes up. There's still all the other variants to be done ;-)

Just seen this thread, my Father and I would be in for 4 at least.
I dont know if you can contact Neville Worsley, he is a keen modeller of NZ aviation in 1/72 and would almost certainly be interested.
Thanks for initiating this.
