I'd say that the RNZAF Museum are in such a rush to move everything because once it is packed away and on a flight down to Wigram there's no turning back! Plus, I'd say the RNZAF Museum Board just want this whole PR fiasco to disappear, so the quicker they pack up and move out: the better for them. I still think the RNZAF Museum Board have handled this whole situation very badly, and unfortunately in turn have possibly created a lot of unnecessary animosity towards the RNZAF Museum at Wigram. I mean, if you were watching all this carry on from the sidelines, would you later be keen to donate material to the RNZAF Museum? Dave, you mention that there are reasons behind the decision to close the Ohakea museum, but you're not allowed to reveal them in public. This to me has been a major part of the problem with the way the RNZAF Museum Board has handled this issue - by being so secretive about the real reasons for closing the Ohakea museum. If there are justifiable reasons for closing the museum, well be upfront about it, because closing ranks and remaining silent only leads to mistrust and creates the feeling of a cover-up. I know you can't please all of the people all of the time, but as far as I can see the RNZAF Museum Board have pleased no one with the way this issue has been handled. A very poor show all round: 3/10 - could try much harder!
