I wish Donaldson would do a film on McLarren. Good little clip that, apart from the Aussie accent.

Thanks for sharing that with us Dave, real lump in the throat stuff for me anyways. Steve.

Me too. It's really nice that Team McLaren has not forgotten its founder and their roots, and they still use the stylised little red kiwi as their symbol despite being a fully English company these days. I hope we get to see the other two films.

That was very well done, and quite spine tingling

Wish you'd stop doing that Dave, the lumps in the throat are getting a bit much just now. Another nice one & the thing I like about it is the obvious respect for the man after all this time, doesn't that canam car still look the goods? It was a time of larger than life people & easy as a youngster to have heros, sadly I said good bye to all too many of them in the wrong circumstances, these clips sure do bring back some memories. Steve.

There was talk in the media a few years back that a feature film about Bruce McLaren was to be made. Sadly, like the mooted films at the same time to be made on Sir Edmund Hillary and Charles Upham VC* respectively, this project seems to have come to nothing. His sister built a museum in Auckland to Bruce's memory, has anyone visited it?
They picked a very lifelike actor to stand in for Bruce in this clip I reckon.

Thanks Dave, I went to the McLaren Festival at Hampton Downs Racetrack and it was a glorious tribute to Bruce and his cars and the F5000 V8's in Jan 2010. Thanks for the vids - great sound of that grunty V8 in the vid!!
