I keep thinking it was only last year that I watched the online feed of the first test flight. so 100 of them already. But still cannot see Air New Zealand ordering any.
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has received the 100th A380 delivered by Airbus. The aircraft is the sixth A380 to be delivered to MAS.
In a statement to mark the milestone, Airbus said the A380, now in its sixth year of commercial services, has carried some 36 million passengers onboard 100,000 flights. Today, the worldwide A380 fleet performs more than 140 flights a day and carries in excess of 1.5 million passengers a month.

Good on them. Six years?? Wow, where does the time go?
I heard on a UK podcast recently, caled Xtended, that Airbus is now the biggest aircraft manufacturer in the world industry at present. Pretty good achievement to be beating Boeing.

Pretty good achievement to be beating Boeing. With the caveat that Airbus is or was at least partially state subsidised, compared to Boeing which is not (unless you count militray contracts). There was a big stink about this a few years back when the contract to attempt to replace the US KC-135 fleet was up for grabs, and Boeing felt Airbus had an unfair competitive advantage

Bloody Ugly thing, we call it the 180...as it keeps returning to stand, my neighbour is a Capt on it...would rather have stayed on the 330/340 or transferred to the 777...and it burns more gas than it should, plus it can't carry any freight! Need I go on? It's good for 7-10hr missions to slot constrained airports ala LHR..which is fine by me as I won't have to do them :-)
