Wow, that is superb. I had seen a few clips from this in other films but there's some really good footage in this film, and it tells the story really well.
It was not just Wigram featured, the Tiger Moths are at No. 1 EFTS, Taieri, and there are also several scenes from No. 3 SFTS at Ohakea (including the Hinds).
The only Baffin that appears is the one being worked on and that - and pretty much all the other workshop scenes - is at the Technical Training School at Rongotai. By 1942 the Baffins were ancient history. What looked like Baffins behind the Oxfords at Wigram, and in one short but great clip of a big formation, were Fairey Gordons of No. 1 SFTS.
It's interesting to see the narrator actually named some of the pupils, very interesting.
I'd love to have a go on that bombing simulator too! Was that at Wigram? Or were they Observers/Navigators training in bomb aiming at Bell Block?
How neat was it to see the low tail chase of Tiger Moths, plus the big formations of Oxfords and Gordons and Hinds and Tigers. Great stuff.
