I was digging through a box of airplane stuff last night and came accross this picture from 1997. I cut out of the local news paper when I was living in Rotorua. I still like looking at it.

Yes I remember that day. They were not permitted to do any dedicated flypast in formation, but went around doing circuts. 6 Orions in circut. A few different paint schemes as well.

What was the occasion? 60th Anniversary of the RNZAF? Man, that's ten whole years ago now!

No, it was just prior to the first aircraft heading off for rewinging, someone worked out it would be some time again before all 6 Orions were in the one place and abel to fly.

A very rare occasion indeed seeing all six together. Has anyone out there got more photos of this event?
Would they have enough crews to do that today?
