I know I have seen it before but I notice I am having a quiet chuckle at times here. I remember those times but only from being around some of the areas at the time and hearing the stories.
Golden years they say.. 18 hour days... hmm. Somehow I think it was an era removed from the pc world we have found ourselves in now.

Yes it was an era in aviation that we will never see again. The younger aviators of today in this ‘pc’ world would be in disbelief as to what went on. To that end I have just finished a book on one of those great legendary pilots namely Bill Black. Full details of that book are on the web site www.billblack.co.nz

The website opened ok for me Merv. It will be an interesting read in itself. I am sure we will all enjoy reading the book itself also.
I am not sure if I have ever met Bill but his daughter worked in the Flight Store within 4 Hangar (AMF Wigram) during the mid eighties. Perhaps it is one of those families with aviation in the blood.
Indeed just thinking about it she must have seen Tim Wallis and Ray Mulqueen in the hangar at times. They all used to visit when the Mustang was resident there in early 1986.
