Just read in Aerolog (of The Avation Historical Society of New Zealand) that Aermacchis have made flypasts during at leasts two occasions this year.
41st Walsh Memorial Scout flying School at Matamata airfield - flypast by NZ6464 on 17 January.
Exercise Wise Owl 88 at Motueka Aerodrome - flyby by NZ6471 on 6 March.
Has anyone seen any photos from these flypasts?

What next - "flypasts" over the Anzac frigates while they are at sea and "flypasts" at Waiouru during Army exercises?? Just don't tell the Gov't that they might actually be doing something useful!!

Damn it. I nearly went to Waharoa that day as I'd heard a whisper the Red Checkers were to be there. But to be sure, I rang the airport there nice and early to confirm and spoke to three people in different aeras including the guy in charge of the Walsh School. No-one at Waharoa had heard anything about an Air Force display.
So I rang Ohakea and though it was a Moday, the place was shut! Some provincial holiday. The bloke there on the gate said CFS was closed and no-one was there. I concluded that there was not to be a display and didn't go.
Now I find out that yes the Checkers did display there AND there was a Maachi flypast. I has planned to take my video camera too. Blast it all!!!

Found this old thread today after doing a bit of searching and researching which lead me to find this video on the 41st Walsh Memorial Scout flying School which has footage of the flypast around 5.58 Thought somebody might be interested. Must be one of the last recorded footage of a Macchi flying in NZ.
