That would be Brendan O'Brien. www.obriensflyingcircus.com/about-us.htmlA larger than life character and always with a good story to tell. I knew him as a Tiger Club member in the mid-80's and some here may remember my recollection of his missing fuel cock lever in a Cessna 185 during an Atlantic crossing. A 'normal' ferry pilot would simply whip out the pliers from his top pocket. Not Brendan, his story has him searching the cockpit high and low looking for the missing lever and/or a suitable alternative. He spied the ignition keys.. by using the keys, and their ring, as a gripping tool he managed to change tanks. Nothing lost he said... the engine had already stopped due starvation so borrowing the keys for a few secs was not an issue. I have seen him on a few UK documentaries, I think the Spitfire one with Martin Shaw also. He was a keen balloonist back in the day and I was literary minutes from going for a flight with him. My one and only opportunity to date. Are you reading, Mike Oakley !!! ?.
