Along the lines of what is happening about the place. Many here would have seen the trailer getting restyled after Operation BRA. Going on from there we have this creation. Perhaps a few readers here will have an idea where this is headed. Guesses anyone ?

Fuse jigs?

Yep, the 'spider' arrangement for the firewall of the Cherokee and Tomahawk respectively. As the jigs are not in constant use the bases or trolleys have other alternative uses. The red engine lift trolley will have little weight but adaptors will be required for the rear bulkhead and wing tips. With the warmer weather we are gearing ourselves up for paint stripping. www.sea2sky.co.nz/Aviation.asp#NeutralThis is the stuff we have been using. A much improved product to the old caustic strippers we used to have.

Some of these pics may not be in any particular order or of the same aircraft.

Some of these pics may not be in any particular order or of the same aircraft. That first one looks like Wigram in the good old days. NZ1009 is one of the spare Harvards (along with NZ1083 parked alongside I'd say) kept for spares for NZ1015 and of course the Mustang was living there for a while wasn't it?

C'mon now Baz. It wasn't a bad effort but there are at least 4 aircraft in that pic. Did you want to have another crack at it ? You are correct though.... the Mustang was living in the hangar then.
You also didn't ask to borrow the rotisserie, are you feeling ok ? I did think of you when I posted the pic of the stripped Cherokee on the rotisserie there.

And the other wing on the RHS has a very thin chord, red tip, not likely to be another P51? It is rather elevated, a high winged aircraft? Looks as thin as a Vampire wing but sitting too high? Hey - I'm just a learner spotter...

suthg, the red tip should tell you it can't be either of the two types you mentioned, keep trying.

I hadn't thought of that being the 4th aircraft. How about the subject of the pic ?
There were Devons on the hangar on occasion but not backed into that corner that I can remember. I think Bruce is closest the mark though, I will have to check other pics in the series to see what was about at that time.

It's a Harvard, you can see the ammo blister, gear door, wing attach cover and landing light. The Devon has a retractable landing light, and a much thicker and longer wing.

My fuselage is on a rotisserie, at least at the front so i could take the gear off and get at some surface rust and tidy up the paint underneath.

Mit, I am going to throw my money behind you. NZ1015 would be lurking about the hangar somewhere. Then again, Baz may well have already named 4 of the 5 aircraft.
The hangar radio was on the wall behind 1009. What was it tuned into ?

The Devon wings are very thin and rise up, and are red tipped (non combatant) and the plane sits higher. That's my choice now... Now back to actual progress on hand...

Oh, and Baz. I did miss spotting your contraption on the front of the fuse, I thought it was part of the clockwork mechanism..
