I will shortly be building Tamiya's 1/48 Mosquito NF Mk XIII as 488 Sqn MM466 ME-R as flown by F/L G E Jameson. I have searched high and low for reference pictures but can find only one referring to this actual aircraft, Ivan Berryman's painting "Tribute to 488 Sqn" here - www.ivanberrymandirect.com/Tribute%20to%20488%20Sqn%20RNZAF.jpgNow the problem is this painting depicts an aircraft which appears to have neither the early "Thimble" or later universal "Bull" radar nose but something else, a slightly enlarged FB nose without armament ...? Or is the painting incorrect? Is it supposed to be a thimble nose? Or perhaps a bull nose? MM820 ME-B on Wings Palette clearly has the bull nose, but I figure this is a later aircraft, being a Mk 30. If anyone knows and maybe has a reference picture or pictures of MM466 they could post here or send to me I would be greatly indebted. [And if it is a Thimble nose and anyone knows where one can be obtained in 1/48 scale ...?] Thanks & Regards Wally.

Thanks Wing Co. That one didn't show up in my numerous searches. So it's the Thimble nose ...? Seems a shame in a way not to use the beautiful Bull nose in the Tamiya kit. Oh well ... onwards ...
