I have encountered many experimental and home built types in my time....and thought that I would try and give a brief report on some of them.

The first is a one-off, the unusual little Shield Xyla !

The pretty little Taylor JT-1 Monoplane is a very successful homebuilt design. Here is the prototype, now back on the U.K. Register after a spell in Portugal. It is seen at Hullavington during one of the Great Vintage Flying Weekend events.

This is a great example of the WAR Replica Fw190, an excellent scale reproduction of the classic Luftwaffe fighter. It was at GVWFE at Kemble.

We had one of those here in NZ for many years, and it was always a popular airshow performer, but sadly it crashed recently during a transit flight.

Here is the one-off Miles M.12 Mohawk, in the RAF Museum. It was built to the special order of Charles Lindbergh, and used as a fast personal transport by he and his wife. It was left in the UK during WW2, and 'impressed' by the RAF, for use as a communications aircraft. However, it wasn't really successful (see below)
