Hi All As per the topic title, all WWII RNZAF in the Opertaional theatre (that I am aware of) had the the RNZAF Roundel applied in 6 positions on the aircraft - except the SBD-5 Dauntless. If you look at this photo of an RNZAF SBD-4, it has the Pacific Roundel in 6 positions upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e7/SBD-4_RNZAF_Espiritu_Santo_1943.jpg/763px-SBD-4_RNZAF_Espiritu_Santo_1943.jpgIf you look at the scant photos of the wing area of the RNZAF SBD-5, it appears the roundels are only in two positions on the wing upper/lower. Does anyone know why it changed with the 5 Model? It appears that USN SBD-5's had the Star/Bar in a similar postion (note you can get USN SBD-5's with the Star in 6 positions). Could it be that 25 SU knew they were going to give back the aircraft and only painted over the US Star/bar. Would love to know (have a 1/32 SBD-5 to build as an 25 SU aircraft in the future). Thanks Alan
