Afternoon Gents, Another recent pickup for my collection..... a Service Dress Tunic belonging to A.T. WEBBER who was a Sgt PTI Instructor ( Physical Training Instructor) now it is extremely rare to see PTI badges on a tunic made in 1942 or any wartime tunic for that matter.... It also came with his Justice of the peace badge dated 1949 and his Pacific Star medal group of four., and a proficiency certificate dated 1932 when he was 13 1/2 years old, also a drivers licence issued by the CHCH city council and issued 1957, There also was a large photo of a passing out parade in Rotorua dated 1942 with Sgt Webber right behind the leading RNZAF Officer. Very pleased with this lot and hope to secure more photos of his soon... Will post a pic or two soon Anyway if any of the esteemed gentlemen here on this forum, could help with his service number and some idea of where he served exactly in the pacific, and any other snippets on info.....anything at all will be greatly appreciated Regards Paul D

Paul,
He was A40676 then (from August 1940) NZ40676, having enlisted at Wigram as an ACH on 16 Feb 40.
The award of his PTI badge was published in Routine Orders of 13 Mar 43, at which time he held the rank of corporal.

I wonder what on earth they would have needed a PTI in the Pacific for. There were enough things going on to annoy pour airmen there already, heat, dust, disease, flies, snakes, spiders and creep crawlies, poison coral - I am sure a PTI would be the last thing most airmen would want to have turn up.
