What was the NZ civil registration letters of the de Havilland DH60 Moth that was donated to New Zealand by former Mayor of London Sir Charles Wakefield, and gifted by the Minister of Defence T. Wilford to the Marlborough Aero Club on its launch on the 9th of March 1929?

Dave, I don't know if this was a 'trick' question, designed to test our researching-skills, (and that you already knew the answer to it before you asked). If it was, then thankyou, it was an interesting and enjoyable 'quicky' exercise. The aircraft rego' you are seeking would be ZK-AAA. This a/c is noted as being a DH60G Moth, (c/No.888) registered in November 1928, and crashing in Blenheim in June 1936. As the 'presentation' aircraft was 'handed-over' to the Marlborough Aero Club on 9 March 1929, this would seem to fit the registration period.
BTW, A 'Google Image Search' for DH60G Moth ZK-AAA' will bring-up at least one image of this aircraft and the hand-over event. The National Library of New Zealand site 'Papers Past' also has some interesting contemporary newspaper reports which you may care to peruse, although those that I quickly-accessed didn't give the registration for the aircraft that was being presented. Should you wish to do so, you can access the Papers Past' files by doing a 'Google' search for 'Papers Past', then typing-in the 'exact phrase' box the words 'Marlborough Aero Club'.
Hope this helps.

It was not meant to be a trick question at all. I had searched the net - after reading old articles about the event on Papers Past - wanting to find out what the rego was so I can add it to my Airshow Archive. So thanks for this.

D.H.60 Moth ZK-AAA was also named 'Sir Charles Wakefield', so nice work Komata.

Thanks. I wonder if Sir Charles donated a quantity of his products to the aero club as part of the gift? One hopes so.

Is that "Lyttleton Flying Club"? Or football club? I would not have thought Lyttleton had an air strip, would it?

No airfield in Lyttleyton, surely would have been the rugby club at the back behind the graving dock, and I'm guessing most of that would be reclaimed land, I do have a few photos here only very small tho.
