HAHAHA!!! that was great Dave, you could see Roger and Sid thinking WTF!!! but they held it together very well. Geez try and talk to a rock group today like that. I think the outcome would be very different. lol

That interviewer was exceedingly rude and arrogant in my opinion. Also, shows how much I know, I thought that was Roger and David

Roger is very active politically as well. Hahaha.....TVNZ bleeped out parts of his comments about Trump on the television last night. But you didn't need to be a rocket scientist to join the dots and work out what the words were that got bleeped out.

Awesome, Vs, would have been massive. Somewhere I have the recorded track of that clip that Gav posted. The concert I went to in Auckland was amazing and to see Dave and Nick there would have been a real special night. Dave appears a little nervous to begin with in his singing and playing in the first solo part. Yes, Dave - it's great!!! As I posted in the other thread, my favourite live recording that Floyd did was Pompeii. Only a band like Floyd would fly several tonnes of equipment and a film crew to a place like Pompeii and play to a non-existent audience and have it filmed. The movie was released in 1972 but the soundtrack has never been officially released by the band, yet it features some of the best live versions of the tracks played by the guys that I've heard - and I've listened to a lot! Some of the 'live' night time footage was actually shot in a studio, but with some editing it has been seamed into the on-set footage. The film only had limited release, but it was put on to video in the 80s, then dvd and is currently available if you look hard enough. Although bootleggers have produced cds of the soundtrack from the video and dvd recordings, which are not of the best quality - I have one made in Italy, Floyd themselves have missed a trick by not producing a disc of this. With youtube and the wonders of the internet, you can now experience the concert in quality that wasn't available at the time of release, so here it is, Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii in its entirety. Enjoy:

Aye cool thread this one, Buccaneers magic, but aye Numann I agree Live at Pompeii something special. Had the good opportunity to visit this year and as we wandered freely around, said to my wife that this was where Floyd played {seen it late night at the flicks in a teenage 70s haze} as we walked into the amphitheatre I was stunned to hear their music coming out of the catacombs below! Low and behold they had an amazing tribute to the band in the passageways, wow bliss! A must if you're a Floyd nut and don't take a tour, just a bottle of wine and a picnic and savour!

This is the song of the year for me so far, have never seen a guitar played like the lead does. Will be heading to the Auckland concert as well, five rows back so should be good!

Great song, great clip! Echoes(!) of "Mother" and "Southampton Dock". Shows how much influence Roger's musicality and lyrics-writing formed the real Pink Floyd sound

Hey oldspotter, would have been cool to go there. David Gilmour took his solo show there recently, which, apparently went down well, would have been awesome.

I'm so glad there are so many music lovers, Pink Floyd is definitely one of my favourites! And since my company has started making more money, I can spend much more on various shows and concerts (thanks to microsoft 365 pricing, wohoo!). What other bands or artists do you like?
