With the cooler weather I had my supply of lemons at the ready. I do believe in a hot lemon tea, with or without a dash of honey, is good for the well-being when the temps drop. Anyway it was a little too early in the evening so I had a hankering for a lager with a splash of lemon juice for starters. I discovered that with a little forward planning I had already bought in some beers with the citrus already added. I don't know if others here have tried it ....... not at all what I was expecting. Took a gulp straight from the bottle and knew something was not right. It was not the lemony beer that I was expecting, rather it was more like the ginger beer from way back. I checked the label, 2%.... just as well as I had finished the 330ml bottle in a matter of seconds. It must be a great thirst quencher on those hotter days. www.nzwomansweekly.co.nz/food/homemade-ginger-beer/A DB Export with added lemon juice it is not...

Picked up a nice concoction earlier this year. Add to runny honey chopped ginger and lemon slices. Steep for 10 days. Add two to three teaspoons to a mug, pour in hot water.
It's good for sore or scratchy throats.
Alternatively, make up a litre or so and chill for Summer. Supplemented with soda or fizzy lemon it's a rather sulubrious beverage. :-)
