A new high-speed chairlift is set to open up a chunk of terrain to skiers and snowboarders at Queenstown's the Remarkables skifield. The six-seater Curvey Basin chairlift will be officially opened today, marking the first stage of a $45 million investment in the popular skiing area. The 1.2 kilometre chairlift will take skiers to an altitude of 19,000 metres, boasting views across Lake Alta, Sugar Bowl and down the ski area to the Wakatipu Basin. It is expected to open up around 20% more terrain.
19,000 metres, I hope they supply oxygen and woollen gloves

Oh don't be so picky, whats a wee zero between friends? I must say that sort of jumped out at me, wonder why the proof reader didn't spot it. Steve.

The chair lift ride up to 19,000 metres is one thing, but it's a hell of a long way to ski back down.
