SCHOOL VISITS TO ANTARCTIC TIME TRAVEL EXHIBITION
NZ IceFest will be opening our premier educational exhibition early, especially for school visits.
Developed in conjunction with scientists from Victoria University and GNS Science, it will simulate journeying 50 million years back in time, then travelling millions of years at a time back towards the future. Hurtling through time, you will be immersed in dramatically changing surroundings as you experience millions of years worth of environmental change first hand. Along the way, you will come to grips with CO2 levels and gain an understanding of the human role in current CO2 levels. As you complete your Antarctic Time Travel experience, everyone will be empowered to make a difference – and encouraged to share a pledge to do so.
This is a self guided experience for school groups. Canterbury Museum and NZ IceFest has developed an educational activity trail for teachers to guide their students through this amazing exhibition. Bookings essential, get in quick!
When: Wed 3rd September - Tues 23rd September
Where: NZ IceFest Hub, Cathedral Square
