I did briefly see the DH4 flying. I was driving a train across the bridge over the Waingawa River heading for Wellington and I saw an aeroplane in the air and crossing the river towards the southeast. At the time I thought it looked suspiciously like a DH4, but then I decided it couldn't be. Then I discovered the other thread in this group where someone mentioned that it had almost certainly flown that day, and the penny dropped that I had seen a DH4 in the sky. If the train had been 15 seconds earlier or 15 seconds later crossing that bridge, I wouldn't have seen it.

This morning I discovered a photo of the complete G-FDHB, the Bristol Scout C being built by the Bremner Brothers and friend at Ludlow. This afternoon they have posted you-tube of the engine running on Vintage Aviator Facebook page,
The building process was recorded on a blog, titled bristolscout.wordpress and building granddad's scout.
Great job lads.
