SA pilot's laptop and logbook survives fall to earth

A South African pilot appears to have taken the name of his MacBook Air a little too literally, managing to drop it from the light aircraft he was flying when the canopy flew open.

Losing both these items is all very well, but what the story doesn't say is whether or not the computer and logbook was recovered, where the 'incident' occurred or the state they were in when found. The Topic Heading would seem to indicate that the items were in fact recovered, but there is no link or any way of finding-out more.

BTW: As the MacBook Air is essentially airfoiled in shape (and very thin as well), its descent pattern (glide characteristics?) would possibly have been somewhat akin to a wing.  Shame no-one could have 'observed' it 'in flight'.
