NUT not back in the air yet...that looks like Doug's MXS-RH Yes, Richard was flying chase in the MXS ZK-MXS. You can see the video camera on the side of his helmet as he lands after the Mossie returned safely.

Gavin, you know just how to push that envy button. That is a great pic and I can only imagine just what the rest look like. Coming back over this side of the ditch soon? We didn't get a lot of photos from flight one, just a few for the record. I have a couple of invites over your way that I need to take up soon but there is a silver aeroplane here that means I won't be going anywhere until we get the images we are after in a few flights time.

Cheers mate! Thinking there are at least two that could deserve your attention and it would be nice to share a jar again with you.

You can also see the MXS from the GoPro under TV959's port wingtip.

Two bits of very important history to celebrate The GoPro video is great, I'm glad Bruce the videographer used some ground-to-air audio at certain points rather than the GoPro's own on-board mic. That said, I'm surprised how well the Merlin noise comes through the latter. Lovely stuff!

They put a 360-degree camera in the cockpit for a flight, and man is it cool!

Interesting to see the undercarriage selector lever drop to 'down' after being selected to 'retract' after takeoff, requiring some prompt attention! This can also be seen on one of the ground-based videos of the takeoff - the undercarriage lowers again

Another Mossie flight today, Gavin C along in a 'drop-top' Yak-3! :-) On arrival at 10am, things were looking weather-dependent for the Mossie - a decent breeze, westerly. Then reliable reports that Keith S was on his way, and TV959 was taken outside - looking hopeful! A passing Avspecs staffer dropped by Mark and I on Airfield Rd to say they were planned for 11.30 - 12.00. Idle speculation turned to what the photo aircraft would be - surely not the yellow high-wing (Glastar) pushed out of the hangar where the Spitfire often is? Planned time came and went, not surprising given the weather looked a bit uncertain. Then the sound of a big inline echoed down from Warbirds... Mustang? P-40? No, the Yak-3! It taxied over to behind the Mossie, and the rear section of the glasshouse came off (Colin presumably has photos from other there). Mosquito engine start at 12:36 - just as a light aircraft started running up directly between me and it! A quick jog to a spot that was lacking a fence post to brace against (and a bit of heat haze) Port engine start by Errol Cavit, on Flickr Running up Mossie running up, Yak chase plane behind by Errol Cavit, on Flickr DH Mosquito TV959 take-off by Errol Cavit, on Flickr TV959 goes past the Avspecs crew by Errol Cavit, on Flickr Off to do chores now!
